Christmas in Canaan (2009)

As noted above, the first entry in the Christmas in Canaan movie series made its debut in 2009. Set during the Civil Rights Movement, the movie followed the story of Daniel Burton – a widowed farmer who is struggling to get by.

During the course of the movie, Daniel begins to notice his young son, DJ is displaying racist tendencies, so forces him to spend time with a black classmate. This in turn leads to an unexpected friendship, as well as an unforgettable Christmas. (86 mins)

Christmas Comes Home to Canaan (2011)

In movie No. 2, Christmas Comes Home to Canaan, Daniel’s son Bobber needs surgery and therapy to recover from an accident. After arriving in San Francisco for surgery, Daniel meets physical rehabilitation specialist, Briony Adair.

When therapy progresses slowly, Bobber invites Briony to come home to Canaan for Christmas. Before long, Daniel and Briony begin to fall for each other. (85 mins)
