Music bio-pic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, is heading into cinemas this month. The film – based on the 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes – details the creation of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 album, Nebraska.
Describing the movie, 20th Century said: “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”
Written, directed, and co-produced by Scott Cooper, the film stars Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, and Odessa Young. Should you wish to take a look, the film will be playing in cinemas from October 24th.
And of course, if you’re a Springsteen fan you’ll no doubt be first in line. Watching a movie about ‘The Boss’ is a big draw, plus the early buzz has been encouraging.
But if you are heading out to see the movie, can you take the family? Well, let’s have a look at the rating information.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere UK age rating

In the UK, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has been awarded a ‘12A’ certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The film has received this certificate due to “moderate threat, violence, sex, mental health theme, (and) strong language.”
In the UK, a ‘12A’ certificate is deemed most suitable for audiences aged 12 or over. However, those below the age of 12 can watch a ‘12A’ so long as they are accompanied by an adult.
As such, if you wish to watch Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere at the cinema as a family, you can. You just need to decide if the film is going to be for every member of the family (especially the youngest members) based on the BBFC guidance above.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere US age rating

In the US, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has been granted a ‘PG-13’ rating. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has given the film this rating for thematic material, some sexuality, strong language, and smoking.
In the US, a ‘PG-13’ can be watched by any one of any age. However, parents are cautioned that some material might be inappropriate for children under the age of 13.
As such, it’s a similar situation to the UK. Yes, you can take the whole family, but you need to decide if this is the right movie for every one, based on the information provided by the MPAA.
