In 1998, family fantasy film, Halloweentown spirited its way onto the Disney Channel. The movie, about a town where supernatural beings live in harmony, proved popular with viewers and quickly became a hit for the channel.

The Halloweentown movies

Halloweentown (1998)

As noted above, the first entry in the Halloweentown movie series made its debut in 1998. The film followed the story of Marnie – a young girl who discovers a hidden world she knew nothing about.

In the movie, on Marnie’s 13th Halloween she learns she is a witch. But there are more surprises in store, as she also learns about Halloweentown – a magical realm where supernatural beings live apart from regular humans. (84 mins)

Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001)

Picking up two years after the events of the first film, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge sees Marnie return to Halloweentown to discover something sinister has taken place. The citizens have undergone a transformation, turning them into dull, black-and-white humans. (80 mins)

Halloweentown High (2004)

In movie No. 3, Halloweentown High, Marnie persuades the Halloweentown Council to allow magical students to attend a mortal school. However, her family’s powers are at risk if something goes wrong before Halloween. (82 mins)

Return to Halloweentown (2006)

In the fourth movie, Return to Halloweentown, Marnie is off to college at Witch University in Halloweentown. However dark forces attempt to control her magic. (87 mins)
