Hallmark has a lot of new movies on the horizon this holiday season, from The Christmas Cup to A Keller Christmas Vacation. Another new title to add into the mix is the rather inviting, Christmas at the Catnip Café.
The new movie lands on Hallmark in late November with Erin Cahill and Paul Campbell amongst the cast. The film follows the story of marketing executive, Olivia Pierce (Cahill) and veterinarian Dr. Ben Kane (Campbell) who come to discover they each own half of a cat café.
Not your usual premise for a movie, is it? Nope, but then Hallmark has a way of finding some holiday hijinks in places others dare to tread.
Describing the new movie, Hallmark said: “Olivia Pierce is a marketing executive from Oakland, California who is this close to realising her dream of purchasing a condo, but she’s a bit short on the down payment. When she learns that her great aunt left her half of a cat café in upstate New York she thinks it’s the Christmas miracle she needed – as long as she can sell and close the deal before the holidays.
“Olivia’s plan hits a bump in the road when she meets Dr. Ben Kane, the veterinarian who owns the other half. The café serves an important role in the town – helping homeless cats find forever homes – and he has no intention of closing up shop.”
According to Hallmark, Olivia and Ben come to an arrangement to keep the café open for now, but to eventually agree to a sale. However, the more time they spend together the more sparks fly and Olivia finds herself becoming part of the neighbourhood.
Hallmark added: “And when she learns the surprising reason her great aunt opened the café in the first place, that just might be the cat-alyst for change that will give them all a Merry Christmas.”
Should you wish to step into Christmas at the Catnip Café, the new movie will debut on Hallmark on Sunday November 30th. The film will air at 8/7c.
