OK first up in the UK, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle has been granted a ‘15’ certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The movie has received this rating due to “strong violence (and) bloody images.”

According to the BBFC, when it comes to violence, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle’s “prolonged battle scenes feature demons and their adversaries who are armed with magical bladed weapons which they use to slash and stab, and cut off heads and limbs, resulting in large spurts and sprays of blood. There are passages of impactful martial arts-style fighting, which include a demon punching through a man’s torso.”

In the UK, a movie rated with a ‘15’ certificate is deemed suitable for audiences aged 15 or above. No one below the age of 15 will be permitted to view a ‘15’ certificate film in the cinema.

Based on this rating, the BBFC believe Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle is suitable for teens aged 15 or above only. If you have a teen in your household who falls below this age (14, 13, etc) then unfortunately they will not be allowed to watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle in a UK cinema.

In the US, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle has received an ‘R’ rating. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has given the film this rating due to bloody violence.

However, here is where things differ from the UK, because in the US anyone can watch an ‘R’ rated movie in a US cinema. The only notable rule is audiences under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

As such, if you have a teenager in the house and they want to see Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba: Infinity Castle, they can do so, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The MPAA simply advises parents to learn a little more about the film before setting off to watch the movie.
