Get ready to pick up your guitars, and be prepared to crank the volume up to eleven. In no time at all, heavy metal band, Spinal Tap will return to the big screen for what promises to be a memorable reunion.

Oh, you thought the 1984 mockumentary film, This is Spinal Tap told you all you needed to know about the legendary group, but you were wrong. Forty-one years later we are getting a sequel in the shape of Spinal Tap II: The End Continues!

In the film, documentary director Martin Di Bergis is tracking the band’s every movements once again, in the run-up to a reunion gig. Expect to see Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls like you’ve never seen them before…

…which is essentially 41-years older than when you last laid eyes on them.

But hey, Spinal Tap may be older, but they are still rockin’! They just need to get through this next gig, and find themselves a drummer (the last one sneezed himself into oblivion).

The new comedy is from returning director Rob Reiner. He helmed the first film, which was based on a script he wrote with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer.

All four have put their heads together for this second instalment, and if the preview trailer is anything to go by, they have got their fingers on the ageing pop-pulse. Expect some madness, plenty of laughs, a tongue firmly in cheek, and some cutting satire.

Should you wish to check out Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the new movie will be arriving in cinemas on September 12th. Ahead of the sequel’s release, a 41st anniversary re-release of This is Spinal Tap is also being lined up for late August.

Rock on!
