When it comes to horror movies, 2025 is serving up its fair share of terrifying titles. From Nosferatu, Sinners, and 28 Years Later, to Dangerous Animals, Clown in a Cornfield, and M3GAN 2.0, there is plenty of horror to go around.
Another horror title to add to the mix this year is the supernatural body horror, Together. Written and directed by Michael Shanks, and starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco, the story follows a married couple who find themselves encountering a mysterious force that horrifically alters their bodies.
Released in July, Together is hoping to appeal to horror buffs and offer alternative entertainment to all the big blockbusters of the summer (Jurassic World: Rebirth, Superman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, etc). It’s also aiming to scare and/or creep out its audience.
But before booking your tickets, you may wish to know the age rating of Together, to ensure it is age appropriate for everyone in your viewing party. If you’re a multigenerational family or a group of friends of varying ages, you may want to know if the film is suitable for all.

Together UK age rating
If you live in the UK, Together has been rated ‘15’ by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The film has received this rating due to “strong horror, violence, bloody images, sex, nudity, (and) language.”
In the UK, a ‘15’ certificate film is deemed suitable for those aged 15 or over, only. If you have someone in your party under the age of 15, then unfortunately they will not be able to view Together in the cinema – that’s the way we roll over here, folks!
Now I know what you’re thinking, is this a case of the BBFC being overly cautious? Nah, the BBFC know their stuff and if the film contains violence, sex, and language, it’s simply not going to be ideal viewing for younger audiences.

Together US age rating
If you live in the US, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has granted Together an ‘R’ rating. Together has received this rating for violent/disturbing content, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and brief drug content.
Although ‘R’ rated movies are classed as ‘restricted’, the reality is these restrictions aren’t all that restrictive in the US. Anyone can watch an ‘R’ rated movie in a US cinema, the only stipulation is that audience members under the age of 17 will require an adult or guardian in attendance.
As with all ‘R’ rated movies, the MPAA’s guidance states: “Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them” to the cinema. So, if you have young children in your family, and you’re considering taking them to see Together, you may want to double-check the information regarding violent/disturbing content and graphic nudity, etc.

Depending on where you live in the world, what your cinema’s viewing restrictions are, and how appropriate you feel Together will be for your party, will ultimately shape if or how you see this film. It’s always a good idea to follow the guidance where you can (that’s what it is there for), then act accordingly.
Oh, and if you do see the movie, or any of the other big films out this year, be sure to have fun. Movies are meant to be enjoyed after all!
Together hits cinemas on July 30th.
