2000s

Into the 2000s now, and Halle Berry kick-started the decade with the comic book blockbuster X-Men, where she appeared alongside an ensemble cast including Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman. Berry then re-teamed with Jackman for Swordfish, before appearing in the James Bond movie, Die Another Day; the thriller Gothika with Robert Downey Jr; and the Batman spin-off, Catwoman.

However, Berry’s biggest acting achievement in this decade came via 2001’s Monster’s Ball. Berry took on the role of Leticia Musgrove for the romantic drama, which won her an Academy Award for Best Actress – a landmark win, as Berry was the first African-American actress to ever receive this award.
