Trying to find the correct Spider-Man movie for the youngest Spidey fans in the household can sometimes be a little challenging. The live-action Spider-Man films tend to be a little too mature for younger audiences (especially the Spidey spin-off pictures such as Morbius and Kraven), so what do you do?
Well, there are a few Spider-Man films that are suitable for younger audiences – you just need to know where to look. And that is where I can help!
In this post I will highlight Spider-Man films which can be watched by young audiences, or those who are young at heart. These are films that are suitable for all ages.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload (2013)
In this first animated offering, Loki the god of mischief is up to his old tricks again, causing havoc for many of Marvel’s mightiest heroes, including Spider-Man and the Avengers. Spidey, Venom, Doctor Octopus and many iconic characters appear in this animated ‘short’ Lego movie.
Oh, and if you are not familiar with Lego’s ‘short’ animated Marvel movies, these films offer a blast of comic book fun, perfect for audiences with short attention spans. The movies run around 20-25 minutes in length and are ideal for all ages, meaning parents can enjoy them too.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Movie No. 2 and this time it is a feature-length animated adventure that originally hit cinema screens in 2018. The film focuses on Miles Morales – a new Spider-Man who takes over from Peter Parker.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse features a strong voice cast, superb animation, a great soundtrack and a whole heap of heart. The movie is funny, well-written and ideal for the whole family.
Did I mention that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an Oscar-winning film too? No? Oh, well it is! It won Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards in 2019.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled! (2015)
Back to Lego now for an Avengers-themed animated ‘short’, Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled!, which sees Iron Man and Co. go up against the villainous Ultron!
Spider-Man only receives a brief cameo in this film I’m afraid, but there are plenty of heroes on offer in this movie, including Ant-Man and the Hulk. As with Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload (2013), this film is fun for the family, and a blast for those who adore Lego!

Spider-Man (1977)
This offering takes Spidey back to a simpler time – the 1970s. In fact, this ‘movie’ was originally conceived as the pilot for the short-lived live-action Spider-Man television series which aired on CBS in 1977.
Nicholas Hammond plays the role of Peter Parker, who is given superhuman abilities after he is bitten by a radioactive spider. He then dons a costume to fight crime and… well, you know the rest.
This is back-to-basics Spidey (‘70s style), so it may not appeal to everyone, but there is nothing offensive here. If you have a Spidey-mad youngster in your house then give this one a try (you can usually view it on YouTube).

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
Back to the Spider-Verse now for 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – a thrilling adventure picture, which sees Miles Morales crossing paths with even more ‘Spider-Heroes’ from across the multiverse, including Spider-Woman, Spider-Punk, and Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man from 2099.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is filled with colourful characters and plenty of action, making it a great watch for the whole family. It’s also funny too!

Lego Marvel Spider-Man: Vexed by Venom (2019)
And finally, in this animated Lego adventure, Spider-Man has to take on one of his most troublesome villains in the shape of Venom. So, if you kids are pestering you to watch the live-action Venom movies, but you know the likes of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Venom: The Last Dance are simply not age appropriate, then this Lego ‘short’ film is the perfect alternative.
