In 2006, Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes hit television screens. The animated series, about Marvel’s iconic first family, followed the eponymous super team as they encountered the forces of evil.

In the series, Hiro Kanagawa took on the role of Mister Fantastic, while Lara Gilchrist played the Invisible Woman, Christopher Jacot voiced the Human Torch, and Brian Dobson played The Thing. Meanwhile, Paul Dobson voiced chief nemesis Doctor Doom, Sam Vincent provided the voice of robotic friend H.E.R.B.I.E., and Sunita Prasad provided the vocals for the Thing’s girlfriend, Alicia Masters.

Now, if you’re not all that familiar with the show it’s not that surprising. Despite airing on Cartoon Network in the US and across Europe, as well as on M6 in France, Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes largely flew under the radar – especially in the US. A big reason for this was because of the show’s erratic broadcast which saw only eight episodes air in 2006.

Further episodes then popped up in 2007, one aired in 2009, and a couple aired in 2010. Put simply: Anyone trying to keep track of the show, the characters, or the story, would have had a difficult task indeed, as it was all over the place!

The result of the erratic broadcast schedule was that Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes was not a huge hit in the ratings. As such, it came and went without much chatter, didn’t get the love or attention it deserved in 2006, and will probably go down as the forgotten Fantastic Four cartoon.

It also doesn’t help that the show was a co-production between Marvel Studios and MoonScoop (a French production company). This means it doesn’t automatically fall under Disney’s umbrella, so isn’t available to stream on Disney+ like many of the old Marvel cartoons.

But those who did catch the show the first time around, or at least remember it, will know it was fun. Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes boasted stylised animation, some great stories, and a good cast of guest characters (Hulk, Ant-Man, The Impossible Man, She-Hulk, Iron Man, etc).

But lets say the show does suddenly pop up on streaming, how many episodes of Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes are there? For all the details, including an episode list, keep reading.

The show was available in the US on Region 1 disc and in Australia on Region 4 disc, initially via individual volumes containing multiple episodes.
