In 1984, Japanese manga artist and character designer, Akira Toriyama created Dragon Ball. The series followed the adventures of Son Goku – Earth’s mightiest warrior.

Originally appearing in Japan’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, Goku made his debut in the opening chapter, ‘Bulma and Son Goku‘. From here he would continue to thrill readers in further Dragon Ball chapters, before the series made the leap to anime and then movies.

The first Dragon Ball movie arrived in 1986 under the title, Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies. This was followed in 1987 by Dragon Ball: Sleeping Princess in Devil’s Castle, with further movies arriving on an annual and bi-annual basis.

But how many Dragon Ball movies are there? For all the details, keep reading.
