Jack Black movies in order

In 1991, Jack Black made his film debut in the movie, Our Shining Moment via the role of ‘Teenage Boy’. From here he followed up his film acting work with appearances in movies such as Bob Roberts, Marked for Murder, and Airborne. 

Initially these were small roles, bit-parts, and not much more; but soon his screen time began to increase and his star status began to grow. This in turn increased his presence on the big screen even further, and propelled his career forward as he started taking leading roles in some of the best-loved comedies of the past few decades.

Over the years, Jack Black has starred in films such as Nacho Libre, The Holiday, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He also voiced Po in a series of Kung Fu Panda movies, played Steve in the incredibly popular A Minecraft Movie, and excelled in School of Rock.

As noted above, Jack Black began his career in quite small roles. This is pretty much how he spent a significant chunk of the 1990s, and it took a while for the actor to establish himself as a leading player.

The 2000s

Moving into the 2000s and this is where Jack Black really started to take off as a performer. He kicked off the decade in a memorable role playing Barry Judd in High Fidelity, before starring in Shallow Hal opposite Gwyneth Paltrow.

In 2005, Black took on the part of Carl Denham in Peter Jackson’s high-profile remake of King Kong, while in 2006 he starred in Nacho Libre, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny, and The Holiday. Meanwhile, in 2008 he provided the voice of Po in animated action-comedy, Kung Fu Panda.

The 2010s

Into the 2010’s and Jack Black’s career continued to flourish. He began the decade with Gulliver’s Travels, before reprising the role of Po in Kung Fu Panda 2.
