All of these novels have helped to make him an international best-seller, and they’ve also inspired a long-running collection of live-action adaptations which exist as movies and television series.
From Just One Look to Fool Me Once, these adaptations of Coben’s novels have also proved popular with audiences. So much so, that various networks and streaming giants have helped bring these stories to the screen, including Amazon and Netflix.

Tell No One (2006)
The first adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel is the 2006 French movie, Tell No One, aka Ne le dis à personne. The film followed the story of Dr. Alexandre Beck – a paediatrician who becomes the suspect in a murder case involving his late wife.

No Second Chance (2015)
The next Harlan Coben adaptation is the 2015 French television miniseries, No Second Chance, aka Une chance de trop. The six-part series follows the story of Alice Lambert – a woman who attempts to track down the people responsible for murdering her husband, Laurent, and kidnapping her baby daughter, Tara.

The Five (2016)
The next entry is the ten-episode British crime series, The Five. Created by Coben, the series revolves around childhood friends Mark, Danny, Slade, and Pru, who are reunited over a murder case with links to Mark’s estranged younger brother.
The cast of The Five includes Tom Cullen, O. T. Fagbenle, Lee Ingleby, Sarah Solemani, Don Warrington, and Honeysuckle Weeks.
Just One Look (2017)
Back to France for this next miniseries: Just One Look, aka Juste un regard. Running six episodes in length the series follows the story of gamekeeper, Eva Beaufils, and her search for her missing husband, Bastien.
The cast of Juste un regard/Just One Look includes Virginie Ledoyen, Thierry Neuvic, and Thierry Frémont.
Safe (2018)
Next on the list is the eight-episode British-French crime drama, Safe. The series focuses on paediatric surgeon and widow, Tom Delaney, and his search for his missing daughter, Jenny.
Michael C. Hall, Amanda Abbington, Marc Warren, Emmett J. Scanlan, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin feature amongst the cast.
The Stranger (2020)
The Stranger is an eight-part British mystery thriller, which debuted in 2020. The miniseries centres around a mysterious stranger who approaches people and tells them revealing secrets.
The Stranger stars Richard Armitage, Jennifer Saunders, Siobhan Finneran, Paul Kaye, Dervla Kirwan, Stephen Rea, and Anthony Head.
The Woods (2020)
Next up is the Polish mystery thriller, The Woods, aka W głębi lasu. Running six episodes in length, this miniseries revolves around two murder cases: one from 1994 and one from 2019, which appear to be linked.

The Innocent (2021)
Spanish miniseries The Innocent, aka El inocente, is the next entry on the list. This eight-episode series tells the story of Mateo and his wife Olivia, and their attempts to restart their lives, nine years after Mateo accidentally killed someone.

Gone for Good (2021)
Gone for Good, aka Disparu à jamais, is a French miniseries composed of five episodes. The series follows 30-something Guillaume Lucchesi, and his quest to find the truth about the sudden disappearance of his partner, Judith.

Stay Close (2021)
In Stay Close, a missing person case links together a suburban mum, a paparazzo, and a detective. James Nesbitt, Cush Jumbo, Richard Armitage, Sarah Parish, Jo Joyner, and Eddie Izzard star in this eight-part British mystery miniseries.
Hold Tight (2022)
Back to Poland for this next miniseries, the six-part crime drama Hold Tight, aka Zachowaj spokój. Hold Tight focuses on a housing estate in Warsaw, which goes into frenzy when an 18-year-old goes missing, shortly after his friend’s death.
Magdalena Boczarska, Leszek Lichota, and Grzegorz Damięcki feature amongst the cast.
Shelter (2023)
Shelter is an eight-episode American mystery series, based on Coben’s young adult novel of the same name. Starring Jaden Michael, Abby Corrigan, Constance Zimmer, and Adrian Greensmith, the series follows student Mickey Bolitar as he finds himself in the midst of the disappearance of fellow student, Ashley Kent.
Fool Me Once (2024)
British thriller, Fool Me Once is an eight-part miniseries based on Coben’s book of the same name. The series deals with two murder cases, which could be linked.
Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Joanna Lumley, Emmett J. Scanlan, Anthony Howell, Joe Armstrong, and Adeel Akhtar feature amongst the cast.
Missing You (2025)
Following the debut of Fool Me Once in 2024, which became a huge hit on Netflix, the streaming service immediately commissioned further miniseries, the first of which was Missing You.
In Missing You, Kat has spent the past 11 years searching for answers after her fiancé disappears. When they reconnect on a dating app, he isn’t the man she remembers.
Just One Look (2025)
Another Polish series, this time running under the title Just One Look (aka Tylko jedno spojrzenie). In this six-part mini-series, a married couple in Warsaw find their lives turned upside down when a mysterious photo unlocks difficult memories of the past.
Caught (2025)
Over to Argentina for this next mini-series, which is titled Caught (aka Atrapados). In this series, Leo is a caring friend to at-risk teens, but when a video spreads, friends and neighbours begin to question what they really know about him.
Run Away (2025)
