The year continues to fly by and once again we find ourselves with yet another four months in the bag. We’ve whizzed through May, June, July and now August, and we’ve been privy to a whole heap of movies along the way.
All good movies? Erm, not all good, but not all bad either. As usual, it’s been a mixed offering across a bumpy summer, but hey, what’s new?
What has been most noticeable over the summer of 2024 is the distinct lack of high-profile releases. Last year’s strikes are still having an impact on this year’s movie schedule, so the top titles have been few and far between.
But no matter, there is still plenty to watch, and I’ve reviewed over 75 movies within this four-month window. Most have been new releases, but I’ve chucked in reviews for some classics too, including all of the Beverly Hills Cops films, all the Bad Boys movies, all the Mad Max movies, and all The Crow pictures.
In terms of new releases there are reviews for Deadpool & Wolverine, Alien: Romulus, Longlegs, Trap, The Bikeriders, Inside Out 2, Challengers, Under Paris, Atlas, Borderlands, and Unfrosted, to name but a few. And you’ll find all these reviews below.

Of course, if you want to read any of the reviews from earlier in 2024, you can, simply check out my post: 75+ movie reviews from 2024: January to April. Here you’ll find all the big movies from the first four months of the year.
And before I step aside for those all-important reviews, let me just say a big THANK YOU to everyone who drops by It’s A Stampede! on a regular basis. This blog is in its 6th year, it has covered hundreds of movies, and it is great to have everyone on board – especially right now.
It is fair to say 2024 is proving challenging for bloggers. At the tail-end of last year, Google undertook a huge update which essentially killed the traffic and engagement on thousands of independent blogs, and many have fallen by the wayside.
Google’s update also impacted It’s A Stampede! significantly, and this has been frustrating to say the least. This combined with the general reduction in new movie releases in 2024 has made things a little more difficult in recent months.
But hey, that’s the way things go. It’s A Stampede! keeps on trucking regardless and the reviews are still here where they will always be.
So, without further ado, here are this summer’s movie reviews.
