In 2022, UK authors Margarita and Steve Morris (under the pseudonym M S Morris) published the crime thriller, The Landscape of Death: A Yorkshire Murder Mystery. The book revolved around a murder case in Scarborough in the UK, led by police officer DCI Tom Raven.

In the book, Raven is brought onto the case when the body of an unidentified man washes up on the beach. The body contains a single gun shot wound, and the only clue to his identity is a ring engraved with two names.

Upon publication The Landscape of Death was a hit with readers, prompting the release of a second novel featuring DCI Raven. This follow-up book, titled Beneath Cold Earth: A Yorkshire Murder Mystery, focused on another murder case, this time involving a recently unearthed human skeleton at a local beauty spot.

Beneath Cold Earth was another hit with readers and was soon followed by further books. Each book continued DCI Raven’s story and helped to develop a loyal fanbase in the process.
