Timothée Chalamet’s film career began in 2009, with a small role in the television movie, Loving Leah. The actor played the role of ‘Young Jake’ in the film, alongside a cast that included Natasha Lyonne and Ricki Lake.

Outside of this single movie in the ‘00s, Chalamet’s roles in this decade included a couple of film shorts (Clown and Sweet Tooth), as well as a one-episode guest spot on Law & Order.

2010s

Moving into the 2010s, and this is the decade in which Timothée Chalamet’s movie career really began to take off. Toward the beginning of the decade Chalamet took small roles in films such as Trooper and Men, Women & Children, before popping up in more high-profile pictures such as Interstellar and True Deception.

However, it was in 2017 when Chalamet really caught Hollywood’s attention, co-starring in the critically acclaimed LGBTQ+ drama, Call Me By Your Name. The film – based on a novel by André Aciman – told the story of a teenager, on the cusp of adulthood, who falls in love with an older man.

Sliding into the 2020s now, and Timothée Chalamet’s film career continues to develop and expand quite considerably. The actor kick-started the decade with a role in The French Dispatch, before taking the lead role of Paul Atreides in the big-budget blockbuster, Dune: Part One (a role he would reprise for Dune: Part Two).

From here, Chalamet appeared in the satirical Netflix comedy, Don’t Look Up, and he provided voice-over duties on the animated film, Entergalactic. In 2022 he took the lead in Bones and All, before heading into 2023 with Wonka.
