Created by American pulp writer, Johnston McCulley, Zorro (Spanish for ‘fox’) is a masked vigilante known for battling corruption and standing up for the oppressed. Dressed from head-to-toe in black and always found carrying a rapier, the good-natured hero is known for his cunning, his skillset, and his signature mark – a letter ‘Z’ which he leaves as a carved calling card after defeating his foes.

Debuting in the 1919 novel, The Curse of Capistrano, Zorro has gone on to appear in books, comics, movie serials, live-action television shows and cartoons. The character has also appeared in an extensive collection of feature-length films, from all over the world.

From Mexico to France, and from Italy to the US, there are many, many Zorro movies. Some of these films you may be familiar with, while others you will have never heard of.
