In 2015, author David Baldacci published the novel, Memory Man. The book followed the story of Amos Decker – a detective on the trail of a killer.

In the story, Amos returns home to discover his wife and daughter have been killed. Their deaths have an incalculable impact on Amos, his life spirals out of control, and he loses his job.

Eighteen months later, former partner Mary Lancaster gets in touch with Amos to bring him some news: Someone has confessed to the murders. However, as Amos starts to come to terms with the information, tragedy strikes at a nearby school.

A killer has murdered thirteen teenagers and is now on the loose. The authorities are going to require Amos’ assistance in the case.

Following the publication of Memory Man, David Baldacci published follow-up novel, The Last Mile. The book continued the story of Amos Decker, with Amos investigating a set of murders connected to a promising football star.
