It’s a new year, a new you (or possibly the regular you), and you’ll be pleased to know there are a wealth of new movies on the horizon. Hurrah! And some of these new movies include plenty of romance, a touch of mystery, and a whole season of Hallmark films inspired by British author Jane Austen.

January – New Year New Movies!
Love on the Right Course arrives first, hitting Hallmark Channel on Saturday January 6th at 8/7c. The movie stars Ashley Newbrough and Marcus Rosner, and according to Hallmark it tells the story of a professional golfer who “suffers a series of setbacks” before returning home and finding love.
The second new movie for Hallmark Channel is A Scottish Love Scheme which debuts on Saturday January 13th at 8/7c and stars Erica Durance. Describing the movie, Hallmark said: “Lily travels to Scotland with her mother and reconnects with Logan, a childhood family friend. Unbeknownst to Lily and Logan, their meddling mothers have come up with a plan to set them up.”
Up next is Betty’s Bad Luck in Love which arrives on Saturday January 20th, starring Laci J Mailey and Marco Grazzini. The movie airs at 8/7c and follows the story of the titular Betty – a woman who has had more than her fair share of bad romances.
The final new Hallmark Channel movie for January is Romance with a Twist, which airs at 8/7c on Saturday 27th. The film stars Jocelyn Hudon and Olivier Renaud.
All four of these films are part of Hallmark Channel’s ‘New Year New Movies!’ event.

February – Loveuary with Jane Austen
Sliding into February and the Hallmark Channel will be indulging in all things romantic with a new programming block titled ‘Loveuary with Jane Austen’. The event will include four new movie premieres, all connected to the celebrated novelist, and will feature cast members including Alison Sweeney, Eliza Bennett, and Mallory Jansen.
The new films are Paging Mr. Darcy, Love & Jane, An American in Austen, and Sense & Sensibility. The films will make their debut in the US on February 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th.
The first film to arrive is Paging Mr. Darcy. Describing the new movie, Hallmark said: “When an overly serious scholar attends a Jane Austen annual conference, she strikes a deal with the man playing Mr. Darcy and finds her perspective, and her heart, changed.”
Paging Mr. Darcy stars Mallory Jansen and Will Kemp. The film airs on Hallmark Channel on Saturday February 3rd at 8/7c.
The second new movie is Love & Jane. The film follows the story of a book fan called Lilly who gets to meet her ultimate hero.
According to Hallmark, “Lilly, a hopeless romantic and literary enthusiast, is surprised when her wish to talk to her favorite author comes true and Jane Austen herself appears in her life.”
Love & Jane stars Alison Sweeney and Ben Ayres. The movie will air on Hallmark Channel on Saturday February 10th at 8/7c.
Up next is An American in Austen. Hallmark’s description for this film reads as follows “Harriet, who thinks that no real man compares to Mr. Darcy, is transported into Pride & Prejudice and gets an unexpected chance to find out.“
An American in Austen stars Eliza Bennett and Nicholas Bishop. The movie arrives on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday February 17th at 8/7c.
The fourth and final film in the ‘Loveuary with Jane Austen’ block is Sense and Sensibility.
Describing the movie Hallmark said: “After the death of their father the Dashwoods’ entire world changes drastically. While one sister is torn between two men the other is holding out hope for the man who has her heart.”
Sense and Sensibility stars Deborah Ayorinde and Dan Jeannotte. The film will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday February 24th at 8/7c.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
Meanwhile, over on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, sofa sleuths can sink their teeth into two brand-new mystery movies: True Justice: Family Ties and Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers. True Justice: Family Ties airs on January 12th, while Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers arrives on February 2nd.
