In 1997, author Robert B. Parker published Night Passage – a crime novel about a former LA homicide detective called Jesse Stone. In the book, Stone relocates to a small town, after getting a new job as the chief of police, but soon finds himself caught up in a murder case.

Night Passage proved popular with readers and a year later it was accompanied by a second Jesse Stone novel, in the shape of Trouble in Paradise. Subsequent novels then followed from Parker, all continuing Stone’s story.

Between 1997 and his death in 2010, Parker published nine Jesse Stone novels in total. The final entry was released posthumously, and at the time it appeared as if this would be the final story in the series.

However, Jesse Stone’s journey did not end in 2010, and instead of the character being retired, a collection of authors continued writing his adventures. Michael Brandman was the first author to write Jesse Stone stories, then Reed Farrel Coleman picked up the pen, and finally Mike Lupica worked on the series.

In this post I am taking a look at the Jesse Stone novel series, to provide a list of all the books, beginning with a breakdown of the titles author by author. So, if you have always wanted to get into the books, but are unsure of where to start, this post will point you in the right direction.
