How many Believer movies are there?

In 2018, South Korean action crime thriller, Believer (aka Dokjeon) made its debut. The movie – a remake of the 2012 Chinese film, Drug War – followed the story of a police detective attempting to bring down Asia’s biggest drug cartel.

Upon release, Believer received mixed reviews from critics, but it proved popular with audiences. As such, it wasn’t too long before a sequel soon followed.

Taking into account the movie which inspired the Believer series, there are three movies altogether. The films are as follows:

Are all of the movies part of the same series?

Technically, not all of the movies are part of the same series. Drug War is the original Chinese film, which inspired the series, and as such it is very much its own thing.

The Believer series is separate from Drug War, and includes Believer and Believer 2. The events of the films take place in chronological order.
