Some exciting news for motorcycle fans, as Lightbulb Film Distribution has announced that new British documentary, Speed is Expensive: The Philip Vincent Story is coming to digital and home video this month. The docu-film – which is narrated by Ewan McGregor – will be released On digital & DVD in the UK & Ireland from September 25th.
Speed is Expensive brings to the screen one of the most dramatic stories in automotive history – the rise and fall of designer Philip Vincent. The feature documentary includes interviews with Jay Leno, Paul Simonon (The Clash) and the late John Surtees, and has won numerous festival award.

Speaking about the new film, writer and director, David Lancaster, said: “We are delighted to join Lightbulb to bring Speed is Expensive to a wide audience. With hours of un-earthed family films, and audio recordings, the film is a very human story of a pioneer who is only now being recognized as the genius he was.”
Lightbulb’s Commercial Director, Matthew Kreuzer, added: “David and his team have done a fabulous job recounting the story of the man behind one of the fastest and most iconic vehicles in motorsport. The film has already been selected for numerous festivals and won awards around the globe, including most recently the prestigious Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.”

The digital edition of Speed is Expensive will be available to own or rent in the UK & Ireland via Amazon, Sky Store, Virgin Media Store, AppleTV and Google Play. A Collector’s Edition DVD, containing an exclusive 24-page booklet and over an hour of extra footage will also be available.
