In 1967, the musical comedy, Dr. Dolittle, made its debut. The live-action film – adapted from the Dr. Dolittle books by Hugh Lofting – followed the story of a doctor who could talk to animals.

When Dr. Dolittle made its debut it wasn’t a hit. Critics didn’t care for the film, audiences weren’t that fussed either, and Dr. Dolittle became a box-office bomb.
