In Heart of Stone, Gal Gadot takes on the role of Agent Rachel Stone – a relatively new MI6 agent. Stone works with a team of more experienced colleagues, who are currently on an assignment, and she does her best to fit in.
But what her fellow teammates are unaware of, is that Stone is a double-agent who secretly works for The Charter – an organisation of ex-intelligence operatives. Unlike MI6, The Charter have no National of political allegiances and their aim is to maintain peace in a troubled world.
As a member of The Charter, Stone has infiltrated her way into her MI6 team very well, and makes them believe she is a fairly meek member of the group. However, the team soon discover the truth about Stone, when she is forced to reveal her skills in order to save their lives.

Directed by Tom Harper, Heart of Stone features a cast which includes Jamie Dornan, Jing Lusi, and Paul Ready. The film is an action spy movie, with Gal Gadot leading the way, and is new to stream on Netflix from today.
Heart of Stone is a Bond-style picture which includes some stunt scenes, plenty of gunfire, occasional explosions, and the hunt for a special weapon known as The Heart. The movie also includes lots of bad acting, some woeful dialogue, and a story that everyone and their Nan has seen many times before.
The level of unoriginality on offer in Heart of Stone is off the scale. The majority of the movie is a generic, by-the-numbers actioner, which may look decent on the surface, but believe me, there is nothing going on underneath.

Heart of Stone appears to have been put together by a creative team who enjoy 007 movies and Mission: Impossible pictures and who felt like having a stab at something of a similar ilk. Unfortunately though, all Heart of Stone really does is remind anyone watching that better movies exist, and all they are doing is wasting their time on this tosh.
In fact, there’s a much better spy movie currently playing in cinemas. It’s called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning: Part One, it runs rings around Heart of Stone, and if you want a solid action movie to get lost in, then go and see it.
OK, so a cinema trip will cost you money, whereas if you already subscribe to Netflix you can watch Heart of Stone for free. But you could throw yourself in front of a car for free if you really wanted to, it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

If I’ve not quite made it clear enough, Heart of Stone is bland rubbish. It’s nothing new, it’s nothing interesting, and even if you make it from start to finish, I guarantee you’ll never watch it again.
Jamie Dornan is the only actor who comes out of this picture relatively unscathed, because he’s the only one who puts in a good performance. Outside of Dornan, there’s nothing worth shouting about, there’s just an endless conveyor belt of spy clichés, as well as Gal Gadot offering up a performance more wooden than a set of oak dining room furniture.
I’m unsure how much money Netflix spent on Heart of Stone, but it was far too much. The streaming giant has served up another mediocre movie and boy, it’s getting tiresome.
