In 1978, Jamie Lee Curtis took on the lead role of Laurie Strode for the low-budget horror movie, Halloween. In the film, Curtis played the part of a teenage babysitter, who becomes the unwitting target of an escaped mental patient, who goes on a killing spree in her neighbourhood.
Upon release, Halloween was a huge hit with audiences, and it helped propel Curtis’ ever-onward. Moving forward, the actress appeared in a string of movies, forging a successful career along the way.
