Mel Gibson movies in order

In 1977, Mel Gibson made his film debut in the movie, Summer City. From here he followed up his acting work with further appearances in films such as Mad Max, Tim, and Attack Force Z.

To begin with (Mad Max aside) his on-screen roles were relatively small parts, which is true of any actor in show business, but soon his star status began to grow as audiences took the actor to their hearts. This in turn increased his presence on the big screen, and propelled his career forward through huge hits such as Bird on a Wire, Air America, Maverick, Braveheart, and Ransom.

During the 1980s and the 1990s in particular, Gibson was a household name and the lead star in a strong line-up of movies. However, moving into the 2000s and beyond, his star status took a downturn and the movies he appeared in often reflected this.

But while Gibson no longer headlines films like he once did, he does continue to appear in pictures. He crops up in new movies with some frequency, including titles such as The Expendables 3 and Boss Level.
