In 1980, Pierce Brosnan made his film debut in the movie, Murphy’s Stroke. From here he followed up his acting work with appearances in films such as The Long Good Friday, The Mirror Crack’d, and Nomads.

To begin with, his on-screen roles were small parts, but soon his star status began to grow as audiences took the actor to their hearts. This in turn increased his presence on the big screen, and propelled his career toward the icon he would eventually become.

Over the years, Pierce Brosnan starred in films such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Dante’s Peak, and Mars Attacks!. He also wowed audiences in the role of secret agent, James Bond, playing the part of 007 across four movies beginning with 1995’s GoldenEye.
