In 1990, US sitcom, The Simpsons, aired ‘Bart vs. Thanksgiving’ – a Thanksgiving episode of the popular series. The episode – broadcast to coincide with the holiday season – provided the animated comedy with some holiday cheer, amongst all the usual hilarity.
Due to the popularity of the episode, The Simpsons returned to the holiday in later seasons. Although the inclusion of Thanksgiving episodes was not an annual event (unlike The Simpsons Halloween episodes) the holiday was celebrated on multiple occasions.
