The Evil Dead movie series is divided into two categories: The original series and the remake.
The original series
Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and Evil Dead Rise are all part of the same series, and largely focus on the character of Ash Williams, as played by Bruce Campbell.
The remake
Evil Dead 2013 is a remake/soft reboot of the series, with new characters. Ash Williams/Bruce Campbell makes a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ cameo during the end credits, but this movie is a separate, stand-alone entry to the previous three films.
