In 1954, Creature from the Black Lagoon dived into cinemas. The black-and-white horror movie, about a mysterious aquatic monster, was produced and distributed by Universal Pictures and was released in 3D.

The film focused on a group of scientists who travel to the Amazon on an expedition. Along the way they encounter an amphibious humanoid (aka the ‘Gill-Man’), but rather than this being a fantastic discovery, their interaction soon turns into something more terrifying.
