With a career spanning decades, and a never-ending string of Oscar nominations, Meryl Streep is one of Hollywood’s best-loved actors. She has appeared in a wealth of movies, including iconic pictures such as Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), Out of Africa (1985) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006), and continues to delight and entertain audiences of all ages.
In this post I am taking a look back at Meryl Streep’s career, through a rundown of all her movies. I will be going through Streep’s portfolio, decade-by-decade, to showcase all of her pictures, from the well-known titles to the more obscure stuff.

Meryl Steep kick-started her movie career towards the end of the 1970s, making her on-screen movie debut in the TV movie, The Deadliest Season. This was followed by the big screen story, Julie, and then roles in The Deer Hunter and Kramer vs. Kramer, which won Streep the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Into the 1990s, and Streep’s success continued in the likes of Postcards from the Edge, The River Wild, and The Bridges of Madison County. One of her most commercially successful movies in this decade was the effects-heavy (and totally fabulous) black comedy, Death Becomes Her.

In 2003 she appeared in an uncredited role in the comedy, Stuck on You; in 2006 she wowed audiences in The Devil Wears Prada; and in 2008 she took on the role of Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia!.

Kicking off the 2010s, and for her first movie in this decade, Streep took on the role of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher for the film, The Iron Lady. The rolewon Streep a Best Actress Award – her third Academy Award in total – and continued to highlight her as one of the best actresses of all-time.
Other movies in this decade included Ricki and the Flash, Mary Poppins Returns, and Little Women. In 2016, Streep provided narration for the animated movie, The Guardian Brothers, while in 2018 she briefly reprised the role of Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!.
