Every once in a while, Marvel Comics publishes a series of trade paperbacks collecting together key stories from the Marvel Universe – epic tales from years gone by. One such series of trade paperbacks is the X-Men: Epic Collection, which serves up some of the best X-Men stories of the past.

If you are just getting into the Epic Collection, and you don’t know your ‘Second Genesis’ from your ‘Children of the Atom’, then you may wish to know what titles are in the collection and what order they should be read. Well, that’s where this post can help you out, as it contains a chronological reading order for all the X-Men: Epic Collection books – including X-Men-related titles.

As you will see below, the list includes X-Men: Epic Collection, X-Factor: Epic Collection, X-Force: Epic Collection, Excalibur: Epic Collection, Wolverine: Epic Collection, Generation X: Epic Collection, The New Mutants: Epic Collection and Deadpool: Epic Collection. So, if you want to work your way through all the X-books, this will prove to be a handy guide.

Please note: The list is as close to a chronological reading order as possible, but some of the contents of each book may blur the timelines a little. With so many collections, and a number reprinting similar material, it is impossible to get everything lined up perfectly.
