In 2008, Catherine Bell took on the role of Cassie Nightingale for the TV movie, The Good Witch. The fantasy film, about a good natured witch, proved popular with audiences and led to a sequel…
…and then another… and another, and so on.
In fact, the films became so popular that eventually they spawned a television series, with associated specials. But if you are new to The Good Witch, what are all of the movies and what is the best viewing order?
In this post, I conjure up the answers. So, hold on tight, we’re about to get started on a magical journey.

The Good Witch movies

As noted above, the first entry in the series was The Good Witch. The film introduced Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Nightingale – the titular good witch of the movie, who had set up home in the town of Middleton.
The Good Witch aired on The Hallmark Channel in January 2008, where it proved to be a ratings winner. This encouraged Hallmark to press forward with a sequel, The Good Witch’s Garden, which aired in 2009.
The follow-up was another hit and this led to a third film in 2010, The Good Witch’s Gift, and a fourth film in 2011, The Good Witch’s Family.
Three further films aired on Hallmark, each appearing annually between 2012 and 2014. The films included: The Good Witch’s Charm, The Good Witch’s Destiny, and The Good Witch’s Wonder.

If you wish to watch The Good Witch film series in order, then view the movies as follows:
- The Good Witch (2008)
- The Good Witch’s Garden (2009)
- The Good Witch’s Gift (2010)
- The Good Witch’s Family (2011)
- The Good Witch’s Charm (2012)
- The Good Witch’s Destiny (2013)
- The Good Witch’s Wonder (2014)
OK, so that’s the movies covered… but that’s not all from The Good Witch.

What happened to Cassie’s first husband Jake?

The actor who played the role of Jake couldn’t continue for the series, as he had other work commitments, so the character was written out.
