January 2nd – On this day in 1976, DC Comics join forces with Marvel Comics to publish Superman Vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. The comic is dubbed ‘The Greatest Superhero Team-Up Of All Time!’ and costs $2.00.

January 6th – On this day in 2017, Outer Places.com reports news that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) director, J.A. Bayona, would like to direct a Superman movie. Directing a Superman film would be great. I always wanted to be Superman. That’s the film that made me want to become a director.”
January 7th – On this day in 1964, Nicholas Cage is born. Cage is a huge Superman super-fan and not only owns a collection of Superman comics, but also named his son Kal-El. During the ‘90s, Cage was cast to play Clark Kent/Superman in the unproduced Tim Burton movie, ‘Superman Lives’.
January 8th – On this day in 1994, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman makes its TV debut in the UK, approximately four months after the series first appears on US screens. The show airs on BBC One under the abbreviated title, The New Adventures of Superman.

February 5th – On this day in 2000, the penultimate episode of Superman: The Animated Series airs in the US. ‘Legacy Part 1’ sees Superman brainwashed into thinking he was raised on Apokolips. February 6th – On this day in 1994, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman airs its 15th episode, ‘The Ides of Metropolis’. The episode is written by Deborah Joy Levine and directed by Philip Sgriccia.
February 7th – On this day in 2007, DC Comics publishes Action Comics Annual issue #10. February 8th – On this day in 1928, the late actor, Jack Larson is born. During the 1950s, Larson played the role of Jimmy Olsen across six seasons of hit TV series, Adventures of Superman. The actor also appeared in cameo roles in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Superman Returns (2006). Larson brought real heart to the role of Jimmy Olsen, and remains a legend of the Superman mythology to this day.

March 2nd – On this day in 2011, DC Comics publishes DC Comics Presents Superman/Doomsday. The Comixology preview reads: “Reprinting tales of the dread being known as Doomsday just in time for the “Reign of Doomsday” storyline marching its way through the DCU! And the outcome will bring about a major change in Kal and Diana’s relationship.” A variant cover of the comic depicts Superman and Wonder Woman locked in a romantic embrace. The cover is a homage to the film, Gone With the Wind (1939)
April 2nd – On this day in 2016, Slashfilm reports that Batman v Superman (2013) suffers a record 81% drop-off at the box office, during its second weekend of release. The drop-off is worrying but ultimately does not stop the movie from being a hit when it closes later that year.
April 3rd – On this day in 1943, Warner Bros. Pictures releases the eight-minute animated short, “Super-Rabbit”. Starring Bugs Bunny, the short spoofs Superman. Mel Blanc voices Bugs Bunny, Chuck Jones directs.
April 4th – On this day in 2016, Forbes runs an article titled: ‘Superman Is An Alien, But His Ancestors Were Human’. The article, written by Forbes contributor JV Chamary, argues that the Man of Steel might not be the extra-terrestrial we all think he is.
April 5th – On this day in 2005, the second episode of Krypto the Superdog airs in the US. The episode includes two stories: ‘Super-Flea’ and ‘A Bug’s Strife’.
April 6th – On this day in 2016, Wired posts a news article suggesting that Justice League (2017) director, Zack Snyder wants to direct a solo Superman movie – a sequel to Man of Steel (2013). Within months of the news appearing, Snyder steps down from completing directing Justice League and steps away from the DCEU movies.

April 12th – On this day in 1997, the 82nd episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman airs in the US. The episode sees the introduction of a new superhero, Vixen. The episode is the first entry in a three-part story.

May 21st – On this day in 2009, actress Joan Alexander passes away. Alexander played the role of Lois Lane in the radio serial The Adventures of Superman, as well as the Superman animated shorts by Fleischer Studios/Famous Studios and Flimation’s first season of The New Adventures of Superman. Joan Alexander’s contribution to the Superman mythology is not forgotten.

June 15th – On this day in 2017, Superman-fan website, Super Site posts a ‘first look’ preview of JAKKS Justice League action figures. The 20-inch figures hit shops on 12th August 2017, three months ahead of the movie.
June 16th – On this day in 1959, actor George Reeves passes away. Reeves played the role of Clark Kent/Superman across the course of six seasons of hit TV show, The Adventures of Superman. The actor left a lasting impression on fans and his performance in the role of Clark Kent/Superman is still regarded as one of the greatest.
June 17th – On this day in 1983, Superman III arrives in US cinemas. Directed by Richard Lester the film counts Richard Pryor and Robert Vaughn amongst its cast. Critics are less than positive about the movie.
June 18th – On this day in 1908, the late actor and announcer, Bud Collyer is born. During his career, Collyer took on the role of Clark Kent/Superman for radio show, The Adventures of Superman, as well for the Filmation TV series, The New Adventures of Superman.

July 1st – On this day in 2004, actor Marlon Brando passes away at the age of 80. Brando had an extensive career, appearing in such movies as A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), Last Tango in Paris (1972) and Apocalypse Now (1972). To Superman fans, Brando was Jor-El, Superman’s biological father. Brando’s performance in Superman: The Movie remains the stuff of legend.
July 2nd – On this day in 2005, the 23rd episode of Justice League Unlimited, ‘Flashpoint’ airs in the US. The episode is directed by Joaquim dos Santos and is written by Dwayne McDuffie.
July 3rd – On this day in 2016, actress Noel Neill passes away at the age of 95. During her extensive career, Noel played the role of Lois Lane in the serials, Superman (1948) and Atom Man Vs Superman (1950) opposite Kirk Alyn, as well as in five seasons of The Adventures of Superman, opposite George Reeves. Neill had cameo roles in Superman: The Movie (1978), the 1980s Superboy TV series and Superman Returns (2006). As Lois Lane, Neil provided a fan-favourite performance which is still remembered today.

July 9th – On this day in 2015, documentary film The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened? receives its video on demand (VOD) release. Directed by Jon Schnepp, the docu-film features interviews from Tim Burton, Kevin Smith and Jon Peters and discusses the abandoned live-action Superman movie, Superman Lives, which would have starred Nicholas Cage in the title role.
July 10th – On this day in 1914, the late comic book artist Joe Shuster is born. At the age of 24, Shuster along with collaborator Jerry Siegel, creates Superman – the most iconic super hero of all-time.
July 11th – On this day in 1972, actor Michael Rosenbaum is born. Rosenbaum played the role of Lex Luthor throughout the run of hit TV series, Smallville.

July 18th – On this day in 2016, Warner Home Video releases a number of themed super hero DVDs collecting together episodes taken from various DCAU shows, including Superman: The Animated Series. Priced at £5.99 the DVDs have a running time of around an hour.
July 19th – On this day in 1983, Superman III arrives in UK cinemas. Directed by Richard Lester the film counts Richard Pryor and Robert Vaughn amongst its cast. Critics are less than positive about the movie. Superman III is the third of four Superman movies to feature Christopher Reeve in the title role.
July 20th – On this day in 2011, DC Comics publishes Superman/Batman issue #86. The Comixology preview reads: “Someone has gotten close to finding out the true identity of Batman, and now that person has turned up dead! July 21st – On this day in 2006, preview footage of Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut is screened at San Diego Comic-Con, as part of the ‘Warner Home Video Superman Through the Ages’ panel. The film – a reworked version of Superman II – is released on 28th November 2006.
July 22nd – On this day in 1938, actor Terence Stamp is born. Stamp is known to Superman fans the world over as General Zod – the ruthless Kryptonian criminal who appeared in Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980).
July 23rd – On this day in 2017, Smallville actor, Tom Welling posts a picture of himself on his official Instagram account, holding backstage passes for Comic-Con. The actor is appearing at San Diego Comic-Con to highlight his involvement in TV series, Lucifer. The accompanying caption reads: “It’s official! @luciferonfox #comiccon2017 #SDCC2017 #hashtag”
July 24th – On this day in 1987, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace hits cinema screens. Directed by Sidney J. Furie, the movie marks Christopher Reeve’s final performance as Superman. The movie is not well received by critics or audiences.

August 3rd – On this day in 1981, actor Travis Willingham is born. Willingham played Superman in the computer games, Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (2012) and Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (2014), and Mecha Superman in the 2015 game, Infinite Crisis.
August 4th – On this day in 2010, DC Comics publishes Superman: The Last Family of Krypton issue #1. August 5th – On this day in 2016, the Independent reports news that Action Comics #1 sells for almost $1million at auction. The comic – bearing the cover price of 10 cents – features the debut appearance of Superman. The auction was held by Dallas-based, Heritage Auctions.
August 6th – On this day in 2014, E Online reports news that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has switched release dates (for the second time) to distance itself from the release of Captain America: Civil War. The film is to be released in March 2016 and not May 2016, as planned.
August 7th – On this day in 2004, the Justice League Unlimited episode, ‘For the Man Who Has Everything’ airs in the US. The episode is an adaptation of the classic Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons story of the same name, from Superman Annual #11. During the course of the episode, Superman is held captive by a wish-fulfilling parasite known as the Black Mercy.
August 8th – On this day in 2017, HET Concert Gebouw presents ‘Summernight at the Movies: From Superman to Ice Age’. The programme includes a number of well-known movies themes, including John Williams’ March from Superman: The Movie (1978).
August 9th – On this day in 2006, DC Comics publishes 52 issue #14. August 15th – On this day in 1997, live-action movie, Steel hits US cinemas. The DC Comics film, inspired by comic book character Steel, is directed by Kenneth Johnson and stars Shaquille O’Neal, Annabeth Gish and Richard Roundtree.
August 16th – On this day in 1946, actress Lesley Ann Warren is born. Warren played the role of Lois Lane in the TV special, It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman (1975). Warren also screen tested (unsuccessfully) for the role of Lois Lane in Superman: The Movie (1978).

August 22nd – On this day in 2012, DC Comics publishes Superman issue #12. August 23rd – On this day in 1942, the ninth Superman Fleischer Studios short is released in cinemas. The short, titled ‘Terror on the Midway’ is the ninth instalment in a series of 17 animated shorts from Fleischer Studios/Famous Studios.
August 24th – On this day in 2011, DC Comics publishes Superman Beyond issue #0. The comic is a spin-off from the popular cartoon/comic series, Batman Beyond. The Comixology preview reads: “From the hit comic series BATMAN BEYOND comes the adventures of The Man of Tomorrow in the DC Universe of the future. As Superman feels his super-powers beginning to decline, The Last Son of Krypton is called back into action to stop a villain more powerful than any he’s faced before. August 25th – On this day in 2009, the complete Smallville Season 8 is released on Region 1 DVD. The Region 2 release follows two months later, with the Region 4 release following in March 2010.
August 26th – On this day in 2009, DC Comics publishes Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen Special issue #2. The Comixology preview reads: “Jimmy Olsen has put all the pieces together regarding the mysterious Project 7734, and it’s worse than he imagined. With The Man of Steel temporarily out of the picture, though, it’s all up to Superman’s Pal to take action. Thankfully he has the help of Mon-El and Steel’s niece Natasha Irons – but will they be enough to defeat Codename: Assassin?”
August 27th – On this day in 2017, DC Comics shares information about a classic Superman poster (dating back to 1949) which promotes diversity. The poster – which has recently begun circulating around the internet – features Superman talking to a group of children, with the comment: “…And remember, boys and girls, your school – like our country – is made up of Americans of many different races, religions and national origins, so… …if you hear anybody talk against a schoolmate or anyone else because of his religion, race or national origin – don’t wait: tell him THAT KIND OF TALK IS UN-AMERICAN.” According to DC, the image was printed on a book cover distributed to schools by the Institute for American Democracy. The artwork was produced by classic Superman artist, Wayne Boring.
August 28th – On this day in 1917, the late comic book artist Jack Kirby is born. Kirby created and co-created some of the most iconic characters in comics, including The New Gods and Darkseid. Many of Kirby’s characters take on key roles throughout the course of Superman: The Animated Series.
August 29th – On this day in 2007, DC Comics publishes Action Comics #855. The Comixology preview reads: “The dynamic writing team of Geoff Johns and Richard Donner joins artist extraordinaire Eric Powell (The Goon) for “Escape from Bizarro World,” a 3-part story that will thrill and horrify! August 30th – On this day in 2006, actor Glenn Ford passes away at the age of 90. The actor was known to Superman fans as Jonathan Kent – Clark Kent’s adoptive father in Superman: The Movie. Ford brought a gentle poignancy to his performance, which is still remembered by fans to this day.
August 31st – On this day in 2011, DC Comics published Justice League issue #1, ushering in a new era of DC stories under the banner heading of ‘The New 52’. The Comixology preview reads: “Comics superstars Geoff Johns and Jim Lee make history! September 3rd – On this day in 2003, DC Comic publishes Action Comics issue #807. The Comixology preview reads: “The ‘Supergirls’ story arc continues! September 8th – On this day in 1969, actor and announcer, Bud Collyer passes away at the age of 61. During his career, Collyer took on the role of Clark Kent/Superman for radio show, The Adventures of Superman, as well for the Filmation TV series, The New Adventures of Superman. Collyer played an important role in the Superman mythology, bringing the character to life across the airwaves just two years after he made his comic book debut.
September 9th – On this day in 1998, DC Comics publishes Superman Adventures issue #25. The comic is the 25th issue in a series based on the DCAU show, Superman: The Animated Series.
September 10th – On this day in 1953, actor Stuart Milligan is born. Milligan played the role of Clark Kent/Superman in two BBC Radio dramas, Superman on Trial (1988) and The Adventures of Superman (1988).
September 11th – On this day in 1987, actor Tyler Hoechlin is born. Hoechlin plays the role of Clark Kent/Superman in hit TV series, Supergirl.

October 1st – On this day in 2008, DC Comics publishes Trinity issue #18. The Comixology preview reads: “Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman no more! The heroic Trinity have met their fates at the hands of their villainous counterparts in the Troika. Now the Earth trembles helplessly in the hands of the villainous group while Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman’s accomplishments are being forgotten!”
October 2nd – On this day in 2017, Comic Book.com reports news that Superman’s ‘black armour’ suit is likely to appear in the DCEU movie, Justice League, after a piece of official movie merchandise is released, which features the black suit. A month later the movie hits cinemas and does not include any reference to the black suit.
October 3rd – On this day in 2017, Warner Archive releases Superman: The Movie: Extended Cut – a 3hour 8minute cut of the film. Previously shown on US TV screens in 1980, The Extended Cut comes packaged up with the 2000 Expanded Edition of Superman: The Movie, as well as a bunch of bonus material.
October 4th – On this day in 1997, Superman: The Animated Series airs the three-part story, ‘World’s Finest’. The story sees Superman team up with Batman in order to defeat Lex Luthor and the Joker. This story marks the first time that Superman and Batman share screen time within the DC Animated Universe. The three-part story is later edited together and released on home video as The Batman/Superman Movie: World’s Finest.
October 5th – On this day in 1983, actor Jessie Eisenberg is born. Eisenberg played the role of Lex Luthor in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
October 6th – On this day in 1990, the first episode of the third season of Superboy airs in the US. ‘The Bride of Bizarro’ is the first episode of a two-part story featuring the supervillain, Bizarro. Part two of ‘The Bride of Bizarro’ airs a week later.
October 7th – On this day in 1989, the second season of Superboy begins in the US with the episode ‘With This Ring, I Thee Kill’. Actor Gerard Christopher takes over the title role of Superboy, from actor John Haymes Newton.
October 8th – On this day in 1910, the late actor Kirk Alyn is born. Throughout his career, Alyn played the role of Clark Kent/Superman in two serials, Superman (1948) and Atom Man Vs. Superman (1950). In 1978, the actor took on the role of Sam Lane (Lois’s father) in Superman: The Movie.
October 9th – On this day in 1979, actor Brandon Routh is born. Routh has so far played the role of Superman once during the course of his career, in the 2006 film, Superman: Returns.
October 10th – On this day in 2004, actor Christopher Reeve passes away at the age of 52. Reeve appeared in four Superman movies during the course of his life time, beginning with Superman: The Movie (1978). The actor’s performance as Clark Kent/Superman is still regarded as one of the greatest performances of a comic book character, ever.
October 11th – On this day in 2017, issue #15 of DC Comics’ Superwoman hits comic book shelves. The Comixology preview reads: “’SUPERMAX’ part two! It’s a clash of incredible power as Superwoman and Supergirl struggle to contain the might of Maxima! But with Maxima’s origin revealed, and a startling new villain looming on the horizon, do our heroes actually need to save Maxima…or be saved by her?”
October 12th – On this day in 2016, DC Comics publishes Action Comics issue #965. The Comixology preview reads: “‘BACK IN THE PLANET’ part one! October 13th – On this day in 2003, the first season of Smallville arrives on Region 2 DVD. The release arrives just under a month after the Region 1 set is released and two months ahead of a Region 4 release.
October 14th – On this day in 2015, DC Comics publishes Batman/Superman #25. Priced at $3.99 the official description from DC Comics reads: “What impact will the revelation of Superman’s secret identity have on the rest of the heroes of the DC Universe? As Superman seeks to serve justice to the villains behind his power loss, find out who the Man of Steel’s new crimefighting partner will be!”
October 15th – On this day in 2008, DC Comics publishes Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen Special issue #1. October 17th – On this day in 1948, actress Margot Kidder is born. Kidder played the role of Lois Lane in four Superman movies, beginning with Superman: The Movie (1978).
October 18th – On this day in 2003, the 33rd and 34th episodes of Justice League air in the US. The episodes, ‘Maid of Honor Part 1 & 2’ are directed by Dan Riba and written by Dwayne McDuffie.

October 21st – On this day in 2015, Superman actor Henry Cavill posts on Instagram for the first time. The image is a shot of the front cover of Total Film issue #239, which promotes Superman V Batman: Dawn of Justice (2016). The caption reads: “So I’ve finally taken the leap into social media! October 23rd – On this day in 1994, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman airs the episode, ‘Church of Metropolis’. The episode – the fifth story of the show’s second season – features the criminal organisation known as Intergang.
October 24th – On this day in 2016, Supergirl airs the episode ‘Welcome to Earth’. The episode – the third story in the show’s second season – sees former Wonder Woman actress, Lynda Carter appear in the role of President Olivia Marsdin.
October 25th – On this day in 2003, the 35th and 36th episodes of Justice League air in the US. The episodes ‘Hearts and Minds Part 1 & 2’ are directed by Butch Lukic and are directed by Keith Damron.
October 26th – On this day in 2015, TV show, Supergirl makes its debut in the US. The first episode is titled ‘Pilot’ and features Melissa Benoist in the role of Kara Danvers/Supergirl. The show initially exists as a standalone series, but is later retconned to be a part of The CW’s “Arrowverse”.

November 1st – On this day in 2003, the Justice Lords – a dark, alternate version of the Justice League – make their debut. The Justice Lords appear in the two-part Justice League episode, ‘A Better World’.
November 2nd – On this day in 2007, the documentary film Confessions of a Superhero is released in the US. Directed by Matthew Ogens, the movie follows four aspiring actors who dress up as their favourite super heroes, including Christopher Dennis who dons a Superman costume.
November 3rd – On this day in 2017, Smallville actor, Tom Welling posts a picture of himself alongside the cast of The Talk. November 4th – On this day in 1997, Capitol Records releases the official soundtrack to Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Clocking in at just under 58 minutes, the album includes 21 tracks, including an extended mix of the main titles.
November 5th – On this day in 2014, DC Comics publishes Action Comics issue #36. The Comixology preview reads: “A new epic begins! November 6th – On this day in 2001, ‘X-Ray’ the fourth episode of Smallville, airs in the US. During the course of the episode, Clark Kent develops his X-Ray vision and must learn how to control his newfound ability.
November 7th – On this day in 1953, the 34th episode of Adventures of Superman airs in the US. The episode, titled ‘A Ghost for Scotland Yard’ includes guest stars Colin Campbell, Clyde Cook, Patrick Aherne and Norma Varden.

November 10th – On this day in 2010, DC Comics publishes Superman Vs Muhammad Ali Deluxe Edition. The book – priced $19.99 – is a hardcover release commemorating the iconic Superman Vs Muhammed fight, first published in 1978.
November 11th – On this day in 1964, Callista Flockhart is born. Flockhart plays Catherine ‘Cat’ Grant on hit TV series, Supergirl.
November 12th – On this day in 2017, Smallville actor, Tom Welling takes to Instagram to post an image of himself at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Florida. The image is accompanied by the caption: “#harrypotter #now #love”
November 13th – On this day in 2017, the Radio Times posts a brief article explaining how Henry Cavill’s moustache was digitally removed from Justice League (2017). The solution involved applying lots of dots to Cavill’s face, the use of CGI… and a lot of money.
November 14th – On this day in 2016, ‘Changing’ the 26th episode of Supergirl airs in the US. The episode features the supervillain, The Parasite, as well as the superhero, Guardian.

November 22nd – On this day in 2006, Snowblind Studios and Warner Bros. Games release Justice League Heroes in the US. Featuring Batman and Superman (as well as the core members of the Justice League), Justice League Heroes is available across a range of platforms including Xbox, PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo DS.
November 23rd – On this day in 1951, Lippert Pictures releases Superman and the Mole Men – a black and white live-action Superman movie. The film stars George Reeves as Clark Kent/Superman and Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane and is the first feature-length film based on a DC Comics character.
November 24th – On this day in 2016, dedicated Superman website, Superman Homepage took a look back at Superman’s appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The feature notes that the first time Superman appeared in the parade was back in 1939, just a year after Superman made his comic book debut.
November 25th – On this day in 1920, the late actress Noel Neill is born. Throughout her extensive career, Noel played the role of Lois Lane in the serials, Superman (1948) and Atom Man Vs Superman (1950) opposite Kirk Alyn, as well as in five seasons of The Adventures of Superman, opposite George Reeves.
November 26th – On this day in 2017, Comic Book Resources ranks Superman’s Top 15 looks. Superman’s outfit from The New 52 era of DC Comics is ranked first place, with Henry Cavill’s costume from the DCEU at Number 2.
November 27th – On this day in 2001, hit TV show Smallville airs its seventh episode, ‘Craving’. Actress Amy Adams takes on the role of Jodi Melville, a girl who develops an insatiable appetite as a result of exposure to Kryptonite. November 28th – On this day in 1941, the second Superman Fleischer Studios short is released in cinemas. The short, titled ‘The Mechanical Monsters’ is the second instalment in a series of 17 animated shorts from Fleischer Studios/Famous Studios.
November 29th – On this day in 2011, the complete series boxset of hit TV series, Smallville is released on DVD in the US. The Region 1 set includes all 217 episodes and a heap of extras. The set arrives just under a month after the Region 2 set made its debut in the UK.
November 30th – On this day in 2015, Fantastic Pictures releases the final trailer and description of Superman fan-film, Man of Tomorrow. The somewhat confusing description (via Superman Super Site) reads: “At the dawn of the 21st Century, mega-corporations exert more influence than governments. The city of Metropolis is its symbol, a technology showcase of tomorrow’s world. December 3rd – On this day in 2014, DC Comics publishes Action Comics issue #37. The Comixology preview reads: “The spread of evil supernatural forces in Smallville continues to get worse – and Superman has no way to stop it. Will this damnation contamination spread to the rest of the world?”
December 4th – On this day in 2013, DC Comics publishes Batman/Superman issue #6. The Comixology preview reads: “Throughout the cosmos, one name commands respect and fear above all others. December 5th – On this day in 1953, fan-favourite episode of Adventures of Superman, ‘Panic in the Sky’ airs on television. The episode sees Superman suffer a bout of amnesia following a collision with an asteroid. During the course of the episode, Clark Kent has to regain his memory in order to stop the asteroid from hitting the planet.
December 6th – On this day in 2006, Mattel release the third wave of action figures based on Crisis on Infinite Earths. The wave includes a 6-inch Superboy Prime figure.
December 7th – On this day in 2015, hit TV show Supergirl airs its seventh episode, ‘Human for a Day’. During the course of the episode, Kara Danvers/Supergirl adapts to life without her super powers.
December 8th – On this day in 1964, actress Teri Hatcher is born. Hatcher played the role of Lois Lane across four seasons of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
December 9th – On this day in 2015, DC Comics publishes Batman/Superman #27. Priced at $3.99, the official description from DC Comics reads: “To defeat Vandal Savage and his barbarian hordes, Superman must become more and more brutal. December 11th – On this day in 2015, DC Comics announces a series of Batman/Superman-themed variant covers to appear across comic books, throughout March. The variant covers promote the movie, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
December 12th – On this day in 2016, Superman-fan website, Superman Homepage, announces news that a new DC Super Heroes Store has opened in Sarawak, Borneo. The store is the first ever 1500 sq ft location at The Spring Shopping Mall. The store includes a DC Super Heroes café.
December 13th – On this day in 1978, Superman: The Movie receives its European Royal Charity Premiere at the Empire, Leicester Square in London. HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Andrew are in attendance. The movie is directed by Richard Donner, with actor Christopher Reeve taking on the title role as Superman/Clark Kent.
December 14th – On this day in 2007, Warner Bros. Pictures releases the Will Smith-starring movie, I Am Legend. During one scene in the movie, a poster for a non-existent Batman/Superman film can be seen. This poster appears nine years before Batman and Superman share the spotlight for the movie, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
December 15th – On this day in 2006, the final two episodes of Krypto the Superdog air in the US. The two-part story, ‘Iguanukkah’ concludes the show’s two-season, 39-episode run.

December 25th – On this day in 1943, the thirteenth Superman Fleischer Studios short is released in cinemas. The short, titled ‘Destruction, Inc’ is the thirteenth instalment in a series of 17 animated shorts from Fleischer Studios/Famous Studios. The shorts are regarded by fans and animation experts as highly influential pieces of animation.
December 26th – On this day in 2005, Superman Escape opens to the public at Warner Bros. Movie World, Queensland, Australia. The ride costs $16 million dollars to produce and measures 40m (130ft) in height.
December 27th – On this day in 2016, Slash Film reports news that Black Adam and Superman are to appear in a forthcoming DC Extended Universe movie. The news comes after Henry Cavill posts an image on Instagram of himself and fellow actor, Dwayne Johnson enjoying a drink together. The image is accompanied by the following caption: “Merry Christmas a Happy New Year from Superman and Black Adam @therock. Today we drink like gentleman and come together as friends. December 29th – On this day in 2010, Superman Site reports news that a print of Andy Warhol’s “Superman” was stolen from a New York City apartment, after burglars broke in through a wall. Police believe the robbery took place during Thanksgiving, when owner and art collector, Robert Romanoff was away from his home.
December 30th – On this day in 1964, actor George Newbern is born. Newbern played the role of Clark Kent/Superman in hit animated shows Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
December 31st – On this day in 2013, DC Comics News.com previews Superman issue #26. The description reads: “In the aftermath of “Krypton Returns,” a distraught Man of Steel returns to find that the Parasite is back—and he is very hungry. First on the menu: Lois Lane!”

Wow, man, that’s epic! I have to admit I didn’t actually read it all–I scanned to my birthday, to find that that’s the day that the Doomsday Omnibus was released. I used to own that, but gave it up a while ago and now am re-collecting the story in the five volume TPB series. Anyway, I appreciate all that effort, as well as a bit of love for the Man of Steel.
