Hey hey, it’s another day – and another edition of ‘Something to read when you’re bored’.

If you find yourself at a loose-end today, or you simply want something to read, then spend a few minutes casting your eyes over the following post/newsletter. This is the eighth edition – you can read issues #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 at your leisure – and as with all of the other editions, my sole aim is to provide you with reading material at this rather unusual time.

Tomorrow will see the launch of Disney+ in the UK and most parts of Europe (there is a slight delay in France). If you are interested in subscribing, the service costs £5.99 a month and will offer a wealth of content, from Marvel and Star Wars movies to National Geographic documentaries and more. Diney+ might be one for the family, if you have already exhausted everything on Netflix.

Another Mario Kart update

I don’t want to brag, but yesterday I got another gold cup on Mario Kart. And it only took hours upon hours of solid playing to achieve this. And you thought I wasted my time.

Toy story

Are vintage toys worth money? Yes? No? Maybe?

In July 2019, I published a post that discussed this very question – just click the link for all the details. I can’t tell you if you are sitting on a small fortune, but I can provide you with info that could prove useful.

What’s on my plate?

It is the topic that has gripped a nation, and as you keep asking, I feel like I have to keep answering, because YOU really want to know!

On my plate yesterday was a rather nice Sunday lunch consisting of roast pork, home-made roast potatoes, and green beans.

You know, it’s quite rare that me and my other half sit down together on a Sunday to have lunch, so there are at least some perks to the current situation.

A taste of things to come

A couple of weeks ago, Sony Pictures released a trailer for the new Tom Hanks movie, Greyhound. If you didn’t catch the trailer when it hit the net, then here it is for your viewing pleasure…

Back during 2017, you may recall that Henry Cavill hit the headlines in connection to some facial hair. The actor had grown a moustache and beard for his role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but this was causing problems with his work on Justice League.

If the actor had simply shaved off his face fuzz it would have come at a significant cost. Would you like to know what it was? Then check out the post: Here’s how much it would have cost for Henry Cavill to shave his moustache…

Round the Twist

If you want some classic escapism today, don’t forget that all four seasons of ‘90s children’s show, Round the Twist are on Amazon Prime Video. If you are a UK Amazon subscriber then switch on your TV and dive right in!

Don’t quote me

Wadsworth: “At the start of the evening, Yvette was here, by herself, waiting to offer you all a glass of champagne. I was in the hall. I know because I was there.”

The above quote is from the movie, Clue. Last week I published a post: The best quotes from Clue. If you missed the post now is the time to catch up.

OK, that’s everything for today. Read, digest, discuss and repeat.

I hope everyone is keeping well.
