**WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED FAR FROM HOME YET THEN STOP READING NOW.**

OK, so if you’ve progressed this far then you have either a.) watched Spider-Man: Far From Home or b.) thrown caution to the wind. Either way, from here on out we’re in spoiler territory.

You’ve been warned.

Now if you are throwing caution to the wind and you’re asking yourself the question ‘Does Spider-Man: Far From Home contain an end credit scene?’, then yes – two in fact! And they are both worth sticking around for.

So, what were they all about?

Credit scene one

The first credit scene picks up after the end of the movie and sees Peter and MJ conclude a session of web-swinging around New York. As Peter sets off on some solo web-swinging he is stopped in his tracks by a news report being broadcast in the city.

The news report features an appearance from the Daily Bugle’s J. Jonah Jameson, as well as footage of Mysterio and Spider-Man. The footage has been doctored by Mysterio to frame Spidey for the destruction caused during the movie.

That in itself would have been a great way to end the movie, but the real kicker is that Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s secret identity. The world now knows that Peter Parker is Spidey!

This credit scene includes one other very significant addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

J. Jonah Jameson is played by actor JK Simmons! Fans of the original Spider-Man trilogy will recall that Simmons played Jameson (to perfection) in all three Sam Raimi/Tobey Maguire movies!

THIS IS HUGE!

Simmons was one of the best pieces of comic book casting EVER and after a short time away from the role he’s returned! THIS IS AMAZING!

Is this Sony developing yet another connection to the Spider-verse/multi-verse?!

I genuinely fist pumped when this scene played in the cinema.

OK, onto the second scene, which was fun, just not quite as exciting.

Credit scene two

In the second scene, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are in a car when it is revealed that… they are Skrulls! Throughout the entire movie Fury and Hill have been impersonated by shapeshifters – leaving Fury (and presumably Hill) to go on vacation.

This scene suggests there may be more Skrulls on Earth. I’m guessing they will return for more movies as the next era of the MCU unfolds.
