It looks like we may have a new Batman.

According to Variety, former Twilight star, Robert Pattinson has been cast to play the Caped Crusader in Warner Bros. Pictures’ next big screen adventure, The Batman.

The movie – from director Matt Reeves – has been in development for quite some time now, but so far without an actor to take on the lead role. If Variety is to be believed, then Pattinson is the man.

It’s at this point that I should point out that Warner Bros. has NOT officially confirmed this news, so file this one under the category of ‘rumour’ for the moment. There are also reports circling around that X-Men star, Nicholas Hoult is in the running to play the role of Batman.
