This weekend there is going to be a lot of Star Wars news doing the rounds. The reason for this is because Star Wars Celebration is taking place in Chicago from today until Monday 15th April.

Hurrah!

And with Star Wars Celebration taking place, and only eight months until the release of the next Star Wars movie, it is believed that the first official trailer for Episode IX is due to drop.

So, when will we see the trailer for Episode IX?

The likelihood is the trailer will arrive on Friday around 5pm/6pm UK time. There’s been no official confirmation (yet), but this is when the Episode IX panel will take place at Star Wars Celebration, so expect to be seeing the new trailer before the weekend hits.

Here’s a description for the panel, courtesy of Star Wars Celebration.com:

“With the culmination of the Star Wars Saga arriving before the end of the year, the Star Wars: Episode IX panel is one you will definitely not want to miss!

“With Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Star Wars: Episode IX director JJ Abrams appearing on stage, you can count on plenty of surprises and special guests to keep your imagination buzzing for the rest of Celebration!”

The key phrase here is “the Star Wars: Episode IX panel is one you will definitely not want to miss!”

Yep, that trailer is coming.

In addition to news on Episode IX, we can also expect to see some images and/or footage from The Mandalorian, as well as product previews, interviews and lots of new information about forthcoming Star Wars content. It’s so exciting!

For those who are unfamiliar with Star Wars Celebration, here’s a ‘best of’ video from the 2017 event. This should give you an idea of what to expect from the weekend-long show.

Pretty cool, right?

Bummed you’re not going?

Yeah, me too.

The good news though is that over the course of the four-day event, Lucasfilm will stream the highlights on YouTube. So, if like me you won’t be attending, you can still keep up to date with all the latest news and details from a galaxy far, far away just by heading over to the Star Wars channel.

I have a bad good feeling about this.
