This weekend, from Saturday 16th until Tuesday 19th February, New York Toy Fair 2019 is taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Center in NYC. The annual event is a HUGE deal for the toy industry as it provides various retailers with the opportunity to unveil all the big products for the year ahead.

If you follow any toy manufacturers or collectors on social media then you will have already seen some of what is on the horizon for 2019. From what has been revealed so far, it looks like another exciting year for the likes of Super7 and Funko and not such a great year for my wallet!

Honestly, my wallet is weeping at the thought of how much money I’m going to hand over to Funko this year. WEEPING!

Anyway, I’ve spent the morning taking a look through various websites, social media accounts and YouTube channels to bring you a round-up of just some of the new lines.

Here you go…

LEGO continues to pump out new products and if New York Toy Fair 2019 is anything to go by, then there are some big things coming our way. In addition to more from Jurassic World, Spider-Man, Batman and Star Wars – including Star Wars LEGO 20th anniversary sets – expect to see a collection of Toy Story 4 LEGO toys, as well as a new line called LEGO Hidden Side.

In addition, be on the look-out for LEGO Flintstones!

You can check out the new Flintstones set below, courtesy of LEGO who have posted the following image & caption on their social media accounts:

“Welcome to Bedrock! If you’ve always dreamed of one day meeting the iconic Flintstones family and their brilliant neighbours, you’re in luck. Please welcome, straight from the Stone Age, Fred, Wilma, Barney & Betty in LEGO ideas set ‘The Flintstones’!

Despite no new cartoon for the past 15 years, Masters of the Universe continues to go from strength-to-strength proving to be a huge hit for collectors. It’s also become a big seller for Super7.

This year expect to see a wealth of Masters products from Super7, including a range of figures based on the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie!

Toy collector, Pixel Dan has a great video focusing on the new Masters lines – both the movie figures, as well as an assortment from the ongoing vintage range. If you want to see the figures – and you know you do – then check out Pixel Dan’s video below.

Oh, and also check out the video to see a brief glimpse at what Super 7 has in store for Toxic Crusaders, Ren & Stimpy and Conan!

As for the Masters figures you just saw there, the movie line includes He-Man, Skeletor, ‘God’ Skeletor and Karg. Each figure is tentatively priced at $35 (around £27) and the line is due out in March.

Some of the other figures featured in the video included the third wave of Super7’s vintage Masters of the Universe line. This new wave includes: Crystal Man-At-Arms, Frozen Teela, Gold Statue He-Man, Mer-Man, Orko, Prince Adam and Trap Jaw. These figures are already up for pre-order on the Super7 website.

Funko is releasing a heck of a lot of great lines over the coming year, with more Funko Pop! vinyl figures than you can shake a stick at. These include:

  • Jim Henson
  • Xena/Hercules
  • Men in Black
  • Garfield
  • Beverly Hills Cop
  • Jaws
  • Castlevania
  • Backstreet Boys/*NSYNC
  • The Simpsons

In addition to the above lines expect Pop figures for The Office, Dawson’s Creek, The Big Bang Theory, Rick and Morty, Caddyshack, Forrest Gump, Pretty Woman, Addams Family, Hellboy, Batman 80th anniversary, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Shazam!, Alien and Cheers, amongst others.

You can check out a full list of figures, including a plethora of images on the Funko blog.

So, what else has New York Toy Fair 2019 unveiled?

How about the following:

Mezco has a ton of products coming out, including: Scooby-Doo, Batman ’66, Batman ’89, They Live, Six Million Dollar Man, The Warriors, and Blade.

Nerd News Today has a video featuring some of these lines:

If NECA is more your thing, then prepare yourself for: ‘IT’, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated line, Halloween III, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Gremlins and Halloween ’18, amongst many others.

Check out the following video from the guys at Not Another Retro Channel for a look at the above lines and more!

Hasbro continues its Marvel Legends lines with the likes of Captain America and Iron Man; presents a rather unique Transformers/Ghostbusters mash-up in the form of a transformable Ecto-1; and has unveiled some truly AWESOME-looking Power Rangers figures.

I you want to see some of these lines, in addition to a look at other toys from New York Toy Fair 2019, then check out this video from the guys at The Fwoosh:

And that really is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you want to see more from this weekend’s big event, then I’d suggest keeping tabs on the likes of Pixel Dan or The Fwoosh, as these guys will continue to provide updates throughout the weekend. It’s also worth following all the major toy manufacturers on social media – especially Funko – as they will be highlighting their products to non-attendees.

More importantly, what lines will you be keeping an eye-out for in 2019? Sound off in the comments!

For me, various Funko Pops will be on my wishlist (Xena, The Simpsons, Garfield) and I’m very excited about the new TMNT figures.
