Disney’s new streaming service has been given a new name – Disney+.
The service – previously known as Disney Play – will be called Disney+ when it launches in late 2019. From launch, the service will boast a strong portfolio of TV and movie content taken from the Disney catalogue, including new material from brands such as Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
Projects currently in development for Disney+ include The Mandalorian, various Marvel TV shows (including Loki and Scarlet Witch), a remake of 3 Men and a Baby, a new take on The Sword in the Stone, shows for Monsters Inc., High School Musical and Rogue One and a new project featuring The Muppets. National Geographic content will also appear on the service, as part of Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
