60 Days of Halloween continued this morning with a comic book story, Doorway to Darkness, which was originally published in Marvel Comics Presents issues #101 – #106 (1992). The story sees Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider team up to protect a young boy from the clutches of the demon, Gorn.
For those unfamiliar with Marvel Comics Presents, the book was an ongoing anthology series focusing on various characters from the Marvel Universe. For the majority of its run, the book was a portmanteau, containing multiple stories which allowed for a real mix of tales.
During the ’00s, Marvel Comics attempted to revive Marvel Comics Presents but it never really took off. In 2019 the book is set for another comeback.
Personally, I feel that Marvel Comics Presents would be ideal for a television adaptation, especially if it focused on the darker tales of the Marvel Universe. Perhaps this could be a way for the MCU to broaden into horror.
Anyway, I’m now into the final week of 60 Days of Halloween. I still have a few things to check off my list, it’s just finding the time to fit it all in.
