September 1st – On this day in 1954, Rear Window opens in US cinemas. The movie – directed by Alfred Hitchcock – stars James Stewart, Grace Kelly and Raymond Burr. The film is based on the short story ‘It Had to Be Murder’ by Cornell Woolrich.
