We know very little about what Marvel Studios movies are being released post 2019 (aka after the release of the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4). We know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is coming and we know that a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is also in the works, but beyond this, we know bupkiss!
But could it now be time to add at least two other Marvel movies to the list? And could these movies be Eternals and Ms. Marvel?
Hmm… it’s starting to sound like a distinct possibility.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios are pressing forward with a movie based on Jack Kirby’s Eternals comics. So much so, that the studio has hired Black List writers, Matthew and Ryan Firpo to pen the script.
There’s been no confirmation from Marvel Studios just yet, so take this as a possible Marvel movie, rather than a definite one – but still it’s sounding likely. And if the Eternals does get the go-ahead then expect a cosmic-themed movie about genetically enhanced, near-immortal beings!
As for Ms. Marvel, well this is sounding possible too, although it could be a little way off yet. In a recent interview with the BBC, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, said: “Ms. Marvel… is definitely sort of in the works.”
He added: “We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
For those not familiar with Ms. Marvel, the character is a Muslim super hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel. A Captain Marvel movie is due in cinemas early next year, with Brie Larson in the title role, so by the sounds of it Ms. Marvel might follow in time.
