In news that will shock no one – Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is getting a sequel.

According to Deadline, Sony is currently developing a follow-up to reunite the existing cast (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart et al). Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker are currently working on a script for the sequel, with Matt Tolmach, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia on producing duties.

Released in late December 2017, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (itself a sequel to 1995’s Jumanji) has been a runaway success. The film has taken $860.8 million at the worldwide box office and this number keeps on climbing.
